Cancer Treatment in Germany

September 4th, 2017 – Having just graduated high school and after attending two classes at Washtenaw Community College – Nathaniel, at the age of 18, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. He has spent the last 17 months dealing with his cancer which would include nearly two months in the hospital in order to; initially save his life, He has had bone marrow aspirations, CT scans, PET scans, MRIs, several surgeries and seemingly countless, all day, Chemotherapy and Radiation visits. Nathaniel has been employed since he was 16 at Meijer Grocery Store but has been unable to work since his diagnosis.

Meet Nathaniel
We were informed that the chemotherapy and radiation were not going to be adequate to save Nathaniel’s life and the best one might hope for him is an extension of his life, however, no one seems to be able to tell us what that means exactly.

There are so many alternative treatments available outside the United States that are not “approved” here. Our family wants those treatments! ALL OF THEM. Everything that is an available option for Nathaniel, will be tried while in Germany, as the family refuses to give up on our him no matter how exhausted one becomes. We will not, “go gentle into that good night.”

All money raised in this campaign will be used to cover expenses for both Nathaniel and his father, Michael. Expenses covered will include but are not limited to airfare and local travel, lodging, food, medicine and to pay for Nathaniel’s cancer treatment which will be entirely out of pocket.

Unfortunately, Nathaniel went to Germany for a short time but had to return due to illness and has been trying to regain his health enough to travel again,
There are specialists in his cancer diagnosis who are not in Michigan but due to insurance restriction, we are unable to go to Texas for the consultation and treatment.    We are not giving up!

If you are able to help financially, please do; if you cannot, believe me we understand, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
